

Jorhat Engineering College (JEC), established on October 10, 1960, by the Government of Assam, is the second government engineering college in the state and a leading technical institution in Northeast India. Affiliated with Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), JEC has been serving the region for over six decades.
The college's vision is to develop quality human resources for sustainable industrial and societal growth through excellence in technical education and research. Admission Process:
Eligibility: Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam, having passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, securing a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates) .
Entrance Exam: Admission is based on the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.
Lateral Entry: Candidates with a 3-year Polytechnic Diploma from Assam can opt for lateral entry into the 3rd semester through the Lateral Entrance Examination.
Postgraduate Programs
Master of Computer Applications (MCA): A three-year program initiated in 1987, focusing on computer applications and software development.
Master of Technology (M.Tech): Two-year programs in Civil and Electrical Engineering, specializing in Design of Civil Engineering Structures and Instrumentation and Control Engineering, respectively.
