The Bidhan Chandra College, Rishra was founded in the year 1957 and is named after Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who was the Chief Minister and architect of modern West Bengal at that time. The college is affiliated to the Calcutta University and is situated in the Hooghly District in West Bengal. Bidhan Chandra College Physics:

The Physics department of the college is having a well-equipped laboratory for electronics, non-electronics, electrical, optics, and heat-related practicals. The department consists of a library which has 44 books on electronics, mechanics, mathematical physics, current electricity, modern physics, and practical physics.

Bidhan Chandra College Eligibility Criteria

Bidhan Chandra College Rishra provides various types of courses under Science, Humanity, and Arts discipline. The courses have eligibility criteria which is necessary for a student to take admission in various courses and specializations.

• The student will not be permitted to take the subjects further until and unless the student does not clear the subjects in the previous qualifying examination.
• The students who are seeking to take admission in honours should obtain at least an aggregate of 50% marks and at least 45% marks in subjects.
• Or at least 55% marks in the subjects or subjects related to the examination which was qualified previously. Or at least 50% marks in aggregate when the student opts for honours in the subject that is not included in the previous qualifying examination.
• The students who appeared but couldn't get passing marks in any subject which is related to the previous qualifying examination would not be allowed to opt for honours in that particular subject.
• Students who have not cleared Mathematics in the previous qualifying examination will not be allowed to opt for Honors in Economics. 

Bidhan Chandra College Admission

Admission Committee of the college selects the students for admission according to the admission policy of the college and rules and regulations of the Calcutta University. The candidates have to fulfil the requirements which are prescribed by the Admission Regulation 2008, C.U and college authority. 

• The application should be submitted within the date notified in the prescribed form. 
• The form should be submitted along with the attested photocopies of the mark sheet of the previously qualified examination. 
• Admit card or the certificate of Madhyamik Pariksha or mark sheet of any equivalent examination should be attested by the Head of the institution where the student studied earlier.
• The selected students must produce the original documents along with requisite fees and two recent stamps sized photographs during the admission time.
• Admission will be strictly according to the marks secured in the Higher Secondary/ 10+2 examination.
