Kuvempu University, [KU] Shimoga was established in the year 1987 and is affiliated with the University of Karnataka. It was named after the great Kannada writer, Kuvempu they do have one of the largest campuses it has spread across more than 230 acres is built in a hillock, seamlessly blending with the surrounded area. The education university has spread across four districts of Shimoga, Chitradurga, Chikmaglur, and Davangere.
Kuvempu University Shimoga also has a Postgraduation center at Davangere and Kadur, the university also offers conventional and non-conventional courses. The Kuvempu University logo has a mythical animal with the trunk of an elephant and the body of a bird, this animal called Gajahamsa which can be very commonly found in the Vijayanagara, and it denotes it is supposed to be a combination of wealth and knowledge.

Kuvempu University Eligibility Criteria:
With the objective of providing higher education to rural youth, Kuvempu University established a Post-graduate Centre at Basavanagara, Kadur. The University aims to foster creativity, learning and research to build a knowledge base and promote the quality initiative to provide education through innovative learning methods and home innate skills among the students through practical studies and co-curricular activities. Kuvempu University Admission:
Kuvempu Univerity is a University located in Shimoga, North Karnataka. It is among one of the most cherished Universities within the state which has approximately 120 colleges affiliated to it and is equipped with modern facilities within the campus, the infrastructure is dynamic with heath centres, an indoor sports stadium, hostel, canteen facilities, and a library. All students who wish to seek admission will need a minimum pass percentage in 12th Std or the undergraduate course in order to apply at the University. Both online, as well as offline forms, are issued at the University. They also have an entrance examination of their own, which the student must qualify in order to get admission.
A special provision is made to the Foreign nationals/ NRI students to take admission in the Post Graduation programs of the University from June 1st, 2018. They can submit applications to the Registrar directly to get provisional admission. They can apply either online or through post or personally with a photocopy of a valid passport and all other academic documents to prove their eligibility. After due verification of the documents, the University will issue an admission offer letter. Then the student has to pay 100$ or INR 7000 through bank transfer and intimate the University with amount transfer details. Then the University will issue provisional admission for the visa process. The student has to take final admission before August 31st by paying the admission fee of 600$ or INR 40,000 per year excluding accommodation and other expenses.

- 3 seats (1:1:1) are reserved for the SC, ST, and children of Kuvempu University employees on a merit-cum-payment basis.
- Admission for MCA and MBA courses are made through PG CET conducted by KEA, Bengaluru.
- In the case of MSW, 20 seats are reserved for BSW candidates and 20 for multidisciplinary graduates.
- The final selection of the students is based on the merit scores.
Kuvempu University Cutoffs:
The Cut off depends on various factors. There are many criteria that guide the selection process of students within the University. Kuvempu University cutoffs are as follows:-
- The difficulty of the question paper
- The number of seats that are vacant for that particular year
- The number of students that sat for the entrance examination
- The cut-off percentage is mostly done on the basis of reservation. Currently, the cutoff is 50% for general merit students, 45% for students from sports quota, and who are physically challenged, and 40% for the SC/ST quota.
Apart from the aforementioned points, there are certain scholarships that are given for the students who have procured a certain percentage and if he/she applies for the scholarship.
Kuvempu University Hostel Details:
Kuvempu University facilities include hostels give residence to both girls and boys separately with all the KU facilities and security provided to make the stay worth learning and experiencing.
