Alpine Institute of Aeronautics [AIA], Dehradun was established in 1994 and is running under the NIAE Educational Society. The college is affiliated with Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University. Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or AME, offered by Alpine Institute of Aeronautics, is a program approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. The responsibility of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is to maintain the aircraft which is fit for airworthy conditions so that the operation of aircraft in air/ground remains safe without incident/accidents.
