Bankura Sammiliani Medical College is one of the oldest colleges in the Bankura district of West Bengal. It was established in 1956 and it is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences.  It offers undergraduate courses in arts, commerce, and science streams.

The college has officially recognized its postgraduate courses in General Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Gynecology & Obstetrics since 2009 and in Pathology and Preventive and Social medicine since 2010. PG seats in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Dermatology, Radio-diagnosis, General Surgery (additional seats), G&O (other seats), Paediatrics, & Anesthesia were also permitted by the Medical Council of India in the year 2013. The total UG seats and PG seats at Bankura Sammilani Medical College are 200 and 78 respectively each year. Admission can be taken through the NEET entrance exam.

• Applicant must have passed their 12th standard examination in the science stream (with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
• Candidates are also required to go through counseling from NEET to get a seat in the program
• The prospective student must be 17 years of age at the time of admission, or by the end of the calendar year
• The upper age limit for MBBS applicants is 25 years of age, with a relaxation of 5 years for students under reservation or with benchmark disabilities

• For M.D must have an MBBS degree.

Nursing Eligibility Criteria

• 10+2 in PCB/ English with 45% marks.

Construction of the Nursing College building (for BSc & MSc Nursing) and the Superspeciality building under the PMSSY project has already been started.
