

The College of Engineering Trivandrum was established in 1939, but when the administration came under the control of the Government of Kerala it moved to a sprawling 125 acres campus in 1960. It is one of the best-known and most sought-after engineering colleges in the state.
The College of Engineering Trivandrum Admissions is for the undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses. The college was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation [NBA] and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education [AICTE]. As per NIRF 2024 ranking, the College of Engineering ranked 18th among Indian institutes in the Architecture category.
According to a study sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the College of Engineering, Trivandrum was among the Top Ten Engineering Colleges in India. Now it ranks among the top in the country in the quality of its graduates and the number of top jobs they get.
Moreover, the Kerala Government has sanctioned a new satellite project in association with ISRO through this Institute. This project aims to design, fabricate, and launch a nano-satellite, in association with ISRO and CET Centre for Interdisciplinary Research [CCIR].

College of Engineering Trivandrum was the first engineering college in the Travancore State. There are around 3500 students and285 teaching staff and 290 non -teaching staff.

College of Engineering Infrastructure Facilities:
- The central computing facility is comprised of 3 labs, namely the Central Computing Facility Lab, Centre for Training in Software Engineering Lab, and the Sree Chithirathirunaal Centre for Computing Lab.
- There are a server room and 10 high-end servers noded which is shared among all the departments and administrative offices.
- The TREST Research Park assists companies with a research focus to set up a base in the park, where the Corporate R&D, the faculty, and students of CET work together.
- The College also has a Centre of Excellence in Fluid Dynamics and the Transportation and Research Engineering Centre present on campus.
- The Centre for Continuing Education helps in conducting courses, training programs, and workshops.
- The Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Unit looks after all refrigeration related issues on campus, giving students hands-on experience.
- The Technical Library has a vast collection of print and e-resources for the students to use.
- The Reading Room has 145 seats with individual tables.

College of Engineering Placement Highlights:
- The Career Guidance and Placement Unit provides the facility to place final year students in respectable organizations through campus recruitment.
- It is fully computerized and has high-speed internet connectivity.
- The Placement activities are held in seven air-conditioned rooms.
- They provide industrial training to students during their course of study.
- They organize lectures, seminars, group discussions, mock interviews, etc. for career guidance, entrepreneurship, and personality development.

CET Admission Procedure:
- Admissions will be based on past academic merit and scores in qualifying exams [if applicable].
- Some courses also require short-listed candidates to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
College of Engineering Hostel Details:
There are separate hostels for both boys and girls. The College of Engineering Trivandrum Infrastructure Facilities includes the Central Library, Gymnasium, Sports facilities, etc.
- 250 rooms are available in the boys' hostel which can accommodate 500 students.
- 140 rooms are available in the girls' hostel which can accommodate 400 students.
- The hostel blocks are easily accessible from the main campus.
- Facilities for both indoor and outdoor games are available in hostels.
- Mess facility is available for the hostel students.
- Both hostels have wardens, assistant wardens, and a tutor.
