Doom Dooma College

Doom Dooma College, located in Rupai Siding, Tinsukia district of Assam, was established on July 1, 1967, to provide higher education to students from rural and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Affiliated with Dibrugarh University and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under sections 2(f) and 12B, the college has been a cornerstone of education in the region.

Academic Programs

The college offers undergraduate programs in Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. Departments include Assamese, English, Hindi, Bengali, History, Education, Economics, Political Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, and Commerce.

In addition to traditional degree courses, Doom Dooma College provides career-oriented certificate and diploma courses such as Spoken English, Computer Applications, Motor Driving, Cutting, Tailoring & Embroidery, and Beauty Parloring

The college also hosts study centers for Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) and offers distance education programs under Dibrugarh University, including B.A., B.Com, and M.A. courses.

Campus and Facilities

Spanning approximately 60 bighas (around 37 acres), the campus is situated about 3 kilometers from Doomdooma town, adjacent to NH 37. Facilities include:

• A digitized library with over 25,000 books, e-resources via INFLIBNET-NLIST, and separate reading rooms for students and faculty.

• Well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Psychology, and Language studies.

• Separate hostels for boys and girls, a spacious auditorium named 'Kallol', a canteen, and a botanical garden.

• Sports facilities including a large playground, basketball and handball courts, and a 10-station multi-gym.
