Hills College of Teacher Education (HCTE) is a premier private institution dedicated to advancing teacher education in Arunachal Pradesh and beyond. Established in 2006 under the guidance of Shri Nabam Rebia and the Tribal Areas Development Society, HCTE aims to provide quality professional education to aspiring educators.

The college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills, Arunachal Pradesh, and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). ​

Courses Offered

1. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)

  • Intake Capacity: 100 students (50 per wing)

  • Eligibility: Graduates with at least 50% marks in any discipline under the 10+2+3 pattern.

2. Bachelor of Education in Special Education (B.Ed Spl.Ed) – Learning Disability (LD)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)

  • Intake Capacity: 30 students

  • Eligibility: Graduates with at least 50% marks in any discipline.

3. Master of Education (M.Ed)

  • Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)

  • Intake Capacity: 50 students

  • Eligibility: Candidates with a B.Ed degree and at least 50% marks.
