• IIM Calcutta releases candidate data for CAT 2024. According to statistics, 3.29 lakh candidates who were eligible registered, but only approximately 2.93 lakh candidates appeared in the test held on November 24, 2024, at the national level.

November 25, 2024

• IIM Calcutta conducted the CAT 2024 exam in three slots on 24 November 2024. Most of the candidates found the exam to be comparatively easier than previous years. This has led to predictions of a significant rise in the CAT cutoff, causing anxiety among test-takers about their chances of securing admission to top MBA programs at IIMs.

• What should you do in the last few minutes before the CAT 2024 exam. Candidates who have got morning slot, can’t do much but wake up early and reach their test centre by 7 am on November 24, 2024. They will have to do last minute revision a night before. But candidates who have got afternoon and forenoon shift can do some las minute preparation. Here are a few CAT 2024 last minute tips to score high.

IIM Amritsar was established by MHRD in 2015 as one of the third-generation Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and is located in Amritsar, Punjab, India. Indian Institutes of Management Act of 2017 declared the institute an institute of national importance.

IIM Amritsar has been ranked 47th by NIRF ranking 2024. Aside from this, the institute received high rankings from other agencies for its management program. MBA is the flagship course of the institute. Aside from this, IIM Amritsar offers admission to postgraduate and doctorate courses such as MBA, MBA-Business Analytics, MBA-Human Resources, and Executive MBA. 

The total intake of students for the MBA program is 327 and the admissions are based on CAT/GMAT/NET-JRF/GRE/GATE/ JAM scores. IIM Amritsar has collaborated with NIT Jalandhar and IIT Ropar to offer an Integrated B.Tech and MBA (IBM) course and an MSc in Data Science and Management course, respectively.

Based on their academic performance and diversity, the Indian Institute of Management Amritsar grants a restricted number of scholarships to its qualified MBA students. The institute also ensures good placements for its students. For 2024,the highest domestic package offered at IIM Amritsar was INR 28 LPA.

IIM Amritsar Courses & Fees

IIM Amritsar provides eight management-related programs at various levels. There are normal, full-time, and hybrid formats available for the courses. Given below are the details of IIM Amritsar courses and fees.

IIM Amritsar Admission 

IIM Amritsar admission to its different courses is a 3-step process. Based on the courses, these may differ slightly. 

IIM Amritsar primarily considers scores of respective entrance exams such asCAT, GMAT, JEE Main, and JAM. Based on the scores of these exams, applicants are shortlisted and then move ahead to the other processes of admission including written tests or personal interviews. The admission processes for different courses are given below:

EMBAis offered in the hybrid mode, with two on-campus visits per year intertwined with live virtual classes. Applicants would need to appear for the IIM Amritsar ADmission test and interviews. Based on the composite scores of these, admission would be finalised. 

The integrated course ofB.Tech-MBA is a collaboration between NIT Jalandhar and IIM Amritsar. Applicants can opt for an MBA in their fourth year of B.Tech and undergo the selection process with IIM Amritsar. 

For admission to a PhD program, applicants must fulfil the eligibility criteria of a 4-year graduation degree or master's degree in a relevant field. Applicants are required to have valid scores of GATE, GMAT, GRE, JRF (UGC/CSIR) or CAT. Alternatively, applicants can appear for the Common Admission Test conducted by IIM Amritsar for admission to the PhD program. 

IIM Amritsar Cutoff 

Admission to IIM Amritsar MBA programs is based on the CAT cutoff. The IIM Amritsar CAT 2024 cutoff will be released after the CAT 2024 exam is scheduled for November 24, 2024. 

During the admission process, the institute releases two cutoff scores- the qualifying cutoff and the final cutoff. The qualifying cutoff is the minimum score required for shortlisting for the interview process. The final cutoff is the minimum score required to be placed on the merit list.
