Admission Process 2025 at IIT Madras

Undergraduate (B.Tech, Dual, BS+MS)

1. Qualify JEE Main → JEE Advanced

2. Participate in JoSAA counselling, choose course → seat allotment

3. Document verification + fee submission to finalize admission

Postgraduate

• M.Tech: GATE → COAP counselling/personal interview

• M.Sc: JAM score + counselling → seat allotment

• MBA: CAT → WAT + PI → final selection

• EMBA: CAT + work experience → WAT + PI

• Ph.D/MS: GATE/UGC/CSIR + written test + interview (may waive written test)

• Class 10 & 12 mark sheets

• Qualifying degree mark sheets (for PG/Doctoral)

• Entrance exam scorecards (JEE Main/Advanced, GATE, JAM, CAT etc.)

• Valid ID proof (Aadhaar, passport)

• Passport-sized photographs (6 copies recommended)

• Proof of date of birth (Birth certificate/10th certificate)

• Caste, income, and PwD/EWS certificates (if applicable)

• Admission/Joining letter issued by IIT Madras

• Transfer/character certificate from previous institution
