Indraprastha College for Women

Indraprastha College for Women came into origin in 1924, and it is the oldest women’s college in Delhi. The college is affiliated to the Delhi University and accredited an ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. Indraprastha College for Women was ranked 97th in the College category by NIRF 2023.

The college has six Research & Learning Resource Centres. The college provides state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities to the students. The institute aims to provide top-class education to students with the help of latest technology.

IP, New Delhi provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of commerce, mathematical science and humanities. The institute has a strong vision of transforming students with the help of excellent teaching techniques.

The college offers courses in the fields of arts, Mathematical science, and commerce. The college provides various skill development programs and certificate courses also. It is the only college to offer B.A (Hons.) in Multi-Media & Mass Communication.

Indraprastha College for Women Facilities

The college library is fully digitized and is housed on three floors. It provides access to a number of e-resources and e-journals. It is fully air-conditioned and provides an elevator. It also has a book bank facility. The college has a swimming pool. It also provides a fitness centre. The climbing wall and the walking track are an added attraction. It also has a multi-facility sports complex. It provides squash, tennis, badminton, and basketball courts. The college has 24 hours of power backup.

Indraprastha College provides transportation facilities within the IP Infrastructure to the students and the faculties. The college conducts various activities throughout the year. It includes co-curricular and extra-curricular activities along with seminars and workshops for the overall development of the students. It also encourages students to take part in sports activities.

 Indraprastha College Delhi has various sports teams like Basketball, Softball, Chess, Air Rifle Shooting, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Baseball, Wrestling, Volleyball, Air Pistol Shooting, Boxing, Taekwondo, Judo, Yoga, and Tennis. They participate in various events in the state, national, and international levels.

The NSS wing of the college conducts various activities on special occasions. They also take part in camps and campaigns. The NCC wing of the college aims to train the students interested in Armed Forces. They organize and take part in various events.

The women’s development cell of the college in association with various NGO’s conducts workshops related to women’s health and sanitation. The Eco-club in the college aims to make the students aware of the environment. It organizes various inter-college and intra-college events.

The placement cell is dedicated to getting its students placed. The IP Placement cell consists of faculty members. They conduct various skill development programs to improve the verbal, aptitude, and logical skills of the student. They train the students to make them better leaders of the future. Indraprastha College for Women Eligibility Criteria

IGRUA, under its shade, allows the candidates falling under the below criteria to be found eligible to make their further decisions and apply for admission to the various courses provided by the college. The details are as mentioned below.

IP College Admission

All the information regarding admission will be displayed on the notice board and the college website. The candidates should check the cutoff and eligibility criteria before applying to the college. The application form should be filled online. The selected students will be called to the college for verification purposes. The candidates should bring the relevant documents, photocopies, and original, and should submit them at the college. The admission fee should also be paid at the time of counselling.

Indraprastha College Hostel Details

The college provides two hostels i.e the Kalawati Gupta Hostel inside the campus and the Indraprastha Hostel outside the college on a separate campus.  Both the hostels are centrally air-cooled. The IP facilities include a medical room, dining hall, 24-hour power backup, library, visitors lobby, hot water, elevator, etc. The hostel kitchen is equipped with modern facilities and appliances. The hostels are under CCTV surveillance. 

The KG hostel has a total capacity of 280 and the IP hostel has a capacity of 170 seats. The rooms are provided on a twin-sharing basis. The hostel admission is provided on the basis of merit. The PwD students are provided accommodation only in the KG hostel.

The hostel fee for the 1^st year is INR 1,57,100 and for the consecutive years is INR 1,49,000.
