

Established in 1964, Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC) is the oldest institution of higher learning in Arunachal Pradesh. Located on a scenic hilltop in Pasighat, East Siang district, the college is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar. Initially started with 42 students and 8 faculty members, JNC has grown to accommodate over 3,700 students across various disciplines.

Library: The college library is one of the richest in the North-Eastern region, housing over 44,000 volumes of books and subscribing to 61 journals and 10 newspapers. It also provides access to over 6,000 e-journals and 35,000 e-books through the UGC INFLIBNET N-List Programme.
Hostels: There are 9 boys' hostels and 4 girls' hostels on campus, providing accommodation primarily for students from Arunachal Pradesh based on merit.
Sports Facilities: The college offers a variety of sports facilities, including football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, and badminton courts. An auditorium-cum-student recreation centre is also available for cultural and co-curricular activities.
Health Services: A government-run healthcare centre with medical staff is situated on the Lower Campus to cater to the health needs of students and staff.
ICT Facilities: The college is equipped with computer labs and internet facilities to support digital learning and research activities.

Accredited with an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Conferred as a "College with Potential for Excellence" (CPE) by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2010.
Selected to start a Community College from the academic year 2013-14.
Recognized as the first and only college in the state affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University to achieve CPE status.
