Loyola Academy Degree and PG College

Loyola Academy Degree and PG College, founded in 1976 by Rev. Fr. T. Baliah SJ, is a private Catholic minority institution managed by the Jesuits of the Andhra Jesuit Province. Located in Old Alwal, Secunderabad, Telangana, the college is affiliated with Osmania University and has been granted autonomous status since 1992 for undergraduate courses and 2010 for postgraduate courses. Recognized for its commitment to academic excellence, the college has been accredited with an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and designated as a "College with Potential for Excellence" by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Campus and Infrastructure

Spanning 132 acres, Loyola Academy's campus is one of the largest in Hyderabad. It features six academic blocks, including specialized facilities like a computer block, agricultural block, and postgraduate block. The campus houses 112 classrooms, 28 well-equipped laboratories, a comprehensive library with over 35,000 books, and dedicated spaces for sports and extracurricular activities. Additional amenities include a weather station, reverse osmosis water purification unit, solar-powered lighting, and a bio-reserve.

Admissions

Admissions to Loyola Academy are based on merit and entrance examinations:

• Undergraduate Programs: Selection is through an entrance exam conducted by the college.

• MBA and MCA: Admissions are based on TS ICET scores and performance in the bachelor's degree.

• M.Sc. Programs: Admissions for Organic Chemistry and Biotechnology are through TS PGECET scores, while Food Technology admissions are based on a college-conducted entrance exam.

Applicants are also required to participate in an interview process post the publication of the merit list.

Placements

Loyola Academy has a robust placement cell that facilitates recruitment drives and internships. In recent years, students have been placed in reputed organizations such as Deloitte, Wipro, Accenture, ADP, and Escentia. The highest package offered stood at ₹12.5 LPA, with average packages ranging between ₹3 to ₹5.5 LPA.
