Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU)

Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) is a public central university situated in Motihari, East Champaran district, Bihar. Established through the Central Universities (Amendment) Act, 2014, it is the second central university in Bihar after the Central University of South Bihar. The university commenced its academic operations in 2016.

MGCU is governed by the Central Universities Act, 2009, with the President of India serving as the Visitor. The Chancellor holds a ceremonial role, while the Vice Chancellor exercises executive authority. The university's administration includes the Court, Executive Council, Academic Council, Board of Studies, and Finance Committee.
