Initially founded as an Inter College in 1951-52, MLVGC transitioned to a Degree College in 1956, affiliating with the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. By 1959, it offered degree programs across Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. The college introduced its first postgraduate course in Physics in 1968 and has since expanded to offer postgraduate programs in 16 subjects, along with M.Phil courses in Physics and Chemistry. In 1988, the college's affiliation shifted to Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University (MDSU), Ajmer.
