National Institute of Fashion Technology, Patna

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Patna, was established in 2008 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. As one of the 19 NIFT campuses across India, it serves as a hub for fashion education in the eastern region.

Location

Situated in the Mithapur Farm Area, approximately 8 kilometers from Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport, the campus is easily accessible and well-connected to the city.

Academic Programs

NIFT Patna offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and certificate programs:

• Undergraduate Programs (UG):

  • Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) in Fashion Design, Leather Design, Accessory Design, Textile Design, Knitwear Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Interiors

  • Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.FTech) in Apparel Production

• Postgraduate Programs (PG):

  • Master of Fashion Management (MFM)

  • Master of Fashion Technology (M.FTech)

• Continuing Education Program (CEP):

  • One-year certificate courses in Fashion and Clothing Technology

Admission Process

Admission to NIFT Patna is based on the NIFT entrance examination, which includes a Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT), and a Situation Test for B.Des. candidates. For MFM and M.FTech programs, the selection is through a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Fee Structure

The fee structure varies across programs:

• B.Des:

  • Tuition Fee: Approximately INR 1,50,000 per semester

  • Hostel Fee: Around INR 1,20,000 per year

• MFM:

  • Total Program Fee: Approximately INR 6.85 Lakhs 

• CEP:

  • Fees range from INR 25,600 to INR 1,23,40,000 depending on the course
