Overview

Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) is the state technological university of Madhya Pradesh, established in 1998. Located in Bhopal, it is known for its emphasis on engineering, technology, pharmacy, and applied sciences. With over 200 affiliated institutions, RGPV has become a hub of technical education in central India.

Eligibility Criteria Admissions

Undergraduate Programs
Candidates applying for B.E./B.Tech must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or Technical Vocational subject. A valid JEE Main score is required for admission.

Postgraduate Programs
For M.Tech programs, applicants should have a B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant stream with a minimum qualifying percentage. GATE scores are preferred.
For MBA and MCA programs, graduation in any stream with specified marks and qualifying entrance tests like CMAT or state-level exams are required.

Pharmacy Programs
B.Pharm aspirants must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics. M.Pharm requires a B.Pharm degree and GPAT score for admission.

Doctoral Programs
For PhD, candidates need a master’s degree in a relevant field. Admission is through the university’s entrance test followed by an interview.

Placements

RGPV has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that facilitates campus recruitment across its affiliated institutions. The university supports students with skill development, industry interactions, and internships. Top recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Capgemini, and Indian Navy.
The average salary package ranges between 3 LPA to 6 LPA, with some core branches achieving even higher offers through specialized industry tie-ups.

Ranking

RGPV holds a respected place among technical universities in India. It is recognized by UGC and is AICTE-approved. While it may not always appear in national ranking frameworks like NIRF due to its affiliating nature, its affiliated colleges such as UIT RGPV perform well individually.
