About Seemanta Engineering College, Mayurbhanj:

Seemanta Engineering College, Mayurbhanj was the pet project of the Seemanta Mahavidyalaya Samiti. The project was instituted in 1997 to cater to the long-cherished demands of technical education of North Odisha and the bordering regions of Jharkhand and West Bengal.The Institute pioneered Engineering education in the rural region and North Odisha during the 1990’s.The institute was the one and only Technical institution of the entire North and Rural Odisha by then.

The Institute has its own campus spread over an area of 51 acres. It has a well furnished academic building of approx. 1, 50,000 sq. ft., a workshop of 25,000 sq.ft. It promotes its meritorious students to pursue their objectives by providing them with scholarships along with the special provision of scholarship to the students of Mayurbhanj.

Since inception, the institute has been maintaining a high profile Placement Cell. The Training and Placement Cell in coordination with the Continuing Education Cell imparts need-based industry oriented courses in addition to Spoken English and Personality Development Classes to groom the students to become multifaceted technocrats.

Hostel Facilities:

• The institute accommodates the students in its in-campus hostels.
• It has separate hostels for boys and girls of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The hostels have inherited the idyllic milieu being located within the campus.
• These hostels provide healthy study atmosphere, Common rooms, newspapers, LCD Television, DTH service, spacious and hygienic Dining halls, Telephone, Medical facility, 24hrs Ambulance service, the weekend visit to district headquarter, courier service, Photocopy facility etc. 
• The hostels run they're own messing to feed their borders.
• Superintendents and Asst. Superintendents work in close coordination with the warden and oversee the daily affairs of the borders.
