Sir JJ College of Architecture

Established in 1913, Sir J.J. College of Architecture is Asia's first architecture school, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Affiliated with the University of Mumbai and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), it stands as a premier institution for architectural education in India.

History

The college traces its origins to 1896 when a Draftsman's Class was initiated at the Sir J.J. School of Art. In 1913, the course was reorganized to focus on architectural training, leading to the establishment of the college. In 1952, it became affiliated with the University of Bombay, marking a significant milestone in its evolution.

Courses Offered

• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.): A five-year undergraduate program designed to provide comprehensive architectural education.

Admissions

Admissions to the B.Arch. program are based on valid scores from NATA or JEE Main, while the M.Arch. program admits students through the MAH M.Arch CET. The college does not conduct its own entrance examination.
