Established in 1998 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kottar and administered under the Diocese of Kuzhithurai, St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering (SXCCE) in Kanyakumari District is an autonomous institution since 2022 affiliated with Anna University. It is approved by AICTE, recognized by UGC under sections 2(f) & 12(B), accredited "A" by NAAC (valid to December 2027) and has NBA accreditation across its core engineering programs

The college campus, spanning around 20 acres, is thoughtfully situated amidst the Western Ghats with eco-friendly amenities and expansive academic infrastructure.

SXCCE offers a balanced mix of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs, alongside professional disciplines:

Anna University has designated SXCCE as an institute-level research center covering core engineering branches, supporting doctoral-level work.

Accreditation & Rankings

SXCCE proudly holds NAAC "A" grade accreditation valid through 2027—first in its district. All engineering UG programs have Tier-II NBA accreditation extended to 2025–2027. It is listed under UGC sections 2(f) and 12(B) and maintains ISO 9001–2000 certified systems.

Sprawling across approximately 20 acres, SXCCE’s campus features a mix of modern and nature-integrated facilities:

• Updated labs across all engineering streams, computing centers, and digital library

• Hostels for both genders, cafeteria, auditorium, sports fields, and wellness centers

Placements & Career Support

The training and placement cell provides structured campus drives and off-campus coaching. In 2022–23, there were 407 placement offers with top packages reaching ₹8.4 LPA and an average package around ₹2.84 LPA. Recruiters include Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Zoho, HCL, Cognizant, ICICI Bank, among others.

Innovation & Research

SXCCE boasts funded projects from DRDO, DST, AICTE and UGC and active collaboration with foreign universities. Dedicated research centers in CSE, ECE, EEE, Civil, Mechanical, IT, PHYSICS, MCA and AI & DS support PhD scholars.
