Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Medical College, [SRTRMCA] Ambajogai is the First Medical College in rural which was founded in 1975 by Dr. V.K. Dawale and was the founder Dean of this Medical College. In a positive direction, commitment, and efforts, the college seeks to start a medical college in the rural area. In 1975, the first class constituted 50 students and passed out in 1979.

With the approval of the Government of Maharashtra and the Medical Council of India, post-graduate courses in different subjects have also begun. The first Post-Graduate batch came out in 1981. The hospital's bed strength rose to 500 in the year 1998. As of today, almost all the disciplines run post-graduate courses which are recognized by MCI. SRTRMCA Admission is merit-based.
