Symbiosis Institute of Technology FAQs

Academically, the curriculum is balanced with hands‑on sessions, seminars, industrial visits and active faculty, though course structure (especially in later years) may feel uneven in some branches. On placements, SIT performs well: ~70–98% of students get placed, with average packages between 6–10 LPA, and top offers ranging from 15–50 LPA (reputed firms like Microsoft, Nvidia, Bajaj, Mercedes Benz visit campus). In summary, Symbiosis SIT Pune is a solid option for B.Tech: it provides modern facilities, decent-to-strong placements, industry-connected academics, and a rich campus life. If you're ready to work hard, handle some commute, and engage actively, SIT offers a well-rounded engineering education worth considering.

Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT Pune), part of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), consistently ranks among India’s top engineering colleges. In the latest India Today 2025 survey, SIT secured 28th position out of 269 engineering institutions nationwide. Previously it held strong positions: #9 in private engineering colleges (India Today 2024) and #11 overall in Outlook’s 2024 ranking . SIT is a reputable, NAAC‑A++ and NBA‑accredited private engineering institute, ranked ~30 nationally and among the top dozen private colleges—making it a smart pick if you're seeking a solid B.Tech education in Pune.

Symbiosis International University (SIU) and its various institutes (like BBA, BCA, B.Sc, B.Tech via SITEEE, etc.) require students to have passed their 12th (10+2) with a minimum percentage. For most general/open-category courses, you need at least 50%, while SC/ST candidates need 45%. For engineering programs through SITEEE, the benchmark is slightly different—you must have 45% in Physics and Mathematics plus one other subject (Chemistry, Biology, Vocational, etc.) (40% for reserved categories). In short: 12th marks matter — they set your eligibility. Once you meet that threshold, admission depends mainly on SET/SITEEE exam scores and personal interviews.

Symbiosis University generally does not offer direct admission into its Pune-based undergraduate or postgraduate programs (B.Tech, BBA, MBA, etc.). Admissions are largely based on performance in entrance exams like SET/SIT-EEE for UG engineering, SNAP for MBA and management courses, followed by rounds like WAT and PI. However, Symbiosis does reserve a small percentage (about 5%) of seats under a management (or NRI) quota, which may allow admission with reduced entrance scores and through additional application/interview processes—but no official capitation or extra donation is permitted. In short: Direct admission without entrance exams is not standard, except possibly via a very limited management/NRI quota. For most courses, appearing and scoring in the required Symbiosis entrance test (SET/SIT‑EEE/SNAP) is essential to secure admission in Pune.

Alumni reviews indicate a consistent rise in fees over recent years, with no relief even during COVID. That said, they also mention strong networking, infrastructure, and placement opportunities—but do highlight administrative drawbacks. Symbiosis is undeniably expensive: MBA programs can cost 7–13 lakhs annually (up to 20–26 lakhs total), with similar steep fees for other courses. While many students question the value—especially given rising costs and tough admin alumni stress it can be worth it if you're prepared to leverage its strong network, infrastructure, and placement support. Payoff depends heavily on how well you use the opportunities available.

Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) Pune, the flagship engineering campus under Symbiosis International, consistently delivers strong placement outcomes for its B.Tech batches. As of the 2024–25 placement drive, the highest domestic package stood at around ₹50 LPA, with international offers reaching 22 LPA. The overall average CTC for B.Tech students is approximately 8.9–10.7 LPA. Among technical streams, Computer Science and Electronics & Telecomm saw slightly higher branch-specific average packages—over ₹11 LPA—while core branches like Mechanical and Civil ranged from ₹9–10 LPA . With top recruiters such as Microsoft, Nvidia, Oracle, and Amazon actively hiring, and a placement rate ranging above 90%, Symbiosis B.Tech offers students solid campus-to-career transitions through excellent compensation packages and diverse industry engagement.
