Before applying for the exam, every aspirant must clearly understand the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2026. These criteria are defined by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and determine whether a candidate is eligible to appear for the exam and later seek admission through JEE Main scores.

The eligibility rules cover educational qualifications, subjects studied, year of passing, age limit, number of attempts, nationality, and special conditions for droppers, open-school students, and diploma holders. Meeting these conditions is mandatory to avoid disqualification at any stage of the examination or admission process.
