Established in 1920 by Rai Bahadur Kanaklal Baruah, the Assam Textile Institute (ATI) is one of the oldest and most esteemed institutions for textile education in North-East India. Located in Ambari, Guwahati, ATI offers specialized diploma courses in Textile Technology, Garment Technology, and Fashion Technology, making it a unique hub for comprehensive textile education under one roof. ​

Academic Programs

ATI provides three full-time, three-year diploma programs:

  • Diploma in Textile Technology – 30 seats

  • Diploma in Garment Technology – 20 seats

  • Diploma in Fashion Technology – 20 seats​

These courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and are designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for the textile industry. ​

  • Laboratories: Spinning Lab, Weaving Workshop, Textile Chemistry Lab, and Textile Testing Lab.
