Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya

The university traces its roots to a girls’ gurukul founded in 1936 by social reformer Bhagat Phool Singh. After his assassination in 1942, his daughter Subhashini Devi expanded the gurukul into several institutes: a girls’ college (1967), education college (1968), Ayurvedic college (1973), polytechnic (1984), and law college (2003). In recognition of her contributions, Subhashini Devi received the Padma Shri in 1976. These constituent institutes were integrated into BPS Women University upon its establishment in 2006

BPS Women University offers a spectrum of programs—from nursery through to doctoral studies—across vocational and traditional disciplines:
