Calicut University, established in 1968, is a public university situated in Thenhipalam, Kerala. It is the second university to be started in Kerala and the largest University in terms of the expanse, affiliated colleges and the number of degrees awarded. The University of Calicut campus, spread over an area of 520 acres of land, is the main hub of academic activities. Of the 406 affiliated colleges to the University, 107are located in Kozhikode District, 78 in Thrissur District, 126 in Malappuram District, 78 in Palakkad District and 17 in Wayanad District.
The university has been recognised byUGC and accredited by NAAC with an A grade. The University of Calicut has achieved the 89th rank in the NIRF Ranking 2024 under the university category. Additionally, the University of Calicut ranked 43rdunder the State Public University category in NIRF Ranking 2024.

Calicut University Admission 2025
Calicut University admission 2025 is ongoing for various courses. The university follows a centralised admission process (CAP) conducted by the Directorate of Admissions (DoA) that ensures no gaps in the admission process for UG, PG, and integrated programs. Candidates are required to register for UGCAP, PGCAP, or IPCAP based on their program of choice. The University of Calicut accepts several state-level and national-level exams for UG and PG admissions. Calicut University admission to various PG courses is based on the Calicut University Admission Test (CUCAT).
- Candidates seeking Calicut University admission must fill out the application form through the official website. The students must be qualified according to the university's eligibility criteria for admission.
- Eligibility criteria for Calicut University courses depend on the type of course chosen. Candidates who have passed the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent are eligible for admission.
- ForB.Tech, the candidates must have passed intermediate examinations from a recognized board with 50% aggregate in PCM in total,
and is also required to qualify in KEAM or Kerala CEE for admission - For all the other UG courses, the admission is based on merit. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized board with 50% aggregate marks.
- For MBA, the candidates must have 50% in grduation and have valid scores in KMAT/CAT/CMAT entrance exams.
