The MBA program in collaboration with IDC-CASSM is designed to produce future business leaders who are capable of adapting to the dynamic business landscape. MBA Course Duration and Fee Structure

The MBA program is a two-year, full-time course spread across four semesters. This structure ensures that students not only gain theoretical knowledge but also receive ample practical exposure. The fee details for the course are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria for MBA

The MBA program in association with IDC-CASSM is open to graduates who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks from a recognized university or institution.
  • Graduates of professional programs such as CA, ICWA, etc., are also eligible to apply for the program.

Additionally, students should note that classes for the IDC-CASSM program are conducted at the Institute of Development & Communication (IDC), located in Sector 38-A, Chandigarh. Since CU hostels are not available for IDC programs, students will be advised to explore available PG or apartment options in the vicinity.

MBA Course Outline

The MBA program is structured to ensure that students acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to excel in various business environments. The curriculum is carefully crafted to blend core business principles with specialized knowledge in the chosen fields.

1. Core Business Management Subjects

These foundational subjects are designed to build a strong business acumen, regardless of the specialization chosen.

  • Business Economics: Understanding market behavior, economic principles, and their impact on business.
  • Organizational Behavior: Studying how individuals and teams behave within organizations.
  • Business Research Methods: Developing skills to conduct research and gather data to support business decisions.
  • Strategic Management: Learning how to formulate and implement strategies in a competitive environment.
  • Managerial Accounting and Finance: Key financial concepts that are necessary for making business decisions.

2. Specialization Areas (Offered in Semester 3)

In the third semester, students can select two specializations from the following options to tailor their learning experience:

3. Value-Added Programs and Labs

Each semester includes one value-added program and one lab for experiential learning. These are designed to give students hands-on experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.

  • Lab Work: Practical sessions that enhance learning and understanding of various business functions.
  • Value-Added Programs: Additional certifications, workshops, and seminars that complement the core curriculum.

4. Internships and Industrial Visits

Students are offered paid CASSM(IDC) and internationally sponsored internships, which provide them with practical, real-world experience. In the first semester, students participate in industrial visits, where they interact with professionals and gain insights into how different industries operate.

  • Industrial Visits: In Semester 1, students visited Open Access Technology India (OATI) Pvt. Ltd., Mohali, where they learned about the functioning of a global IT service leader. Such visits are an integral part of the program, helping students understand the challenges faced by businesses in different sectors.

  • Internships: Students undergo internships in industry-leading organizations, enhancing their learning and employability.
