Demow College was established on July 26, 1970, through the collective efforts of visionary educators and social activists aiming to provide higher education opportunities to the students of Demow and surrounding areas. Initially brought under the Deficit Grants-in-aid system in 1985, the college was provincialized in 2005, marking its commitment to quality education.

Affiliated with Dibrugarh University and recognized by the State Government of Assam, Demow College offers undergraduate programs in the Arts stream.
