Goa College of Engineering (GEC), established in 1967, is the oldest government engineering college in Goa. It is affiliated with Goa University and approved by AICTE. Situated on a 300-acre campus in Farmagudi, Ponda, GEC offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various engineering disciplines. Admissions 2026

Undergraduate (B.E.)

• Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects, securing at least 45% aggregate marks.

• Admission Process: Admission is based on Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) scores.

• Available Branches: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer, Electronics & Telecommunication, Information Technology, and Mining Engineering.

Postgraduate (M.E.)

• Eligibility: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with at least 50% aggregate marks.

• Admission Process: Based on valid GATE scores.

• Available Specializations: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer, Electronics & Telecommunication, Information Technology, and Mining Engineering.

Doctoral (Ph.D.)

• Eligibility: Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% marks.

• Admission Process: Based on GATE scores and/or institutional entrance examination.

Placements

Goa College of Engineering has an active training and placement cell that assists students with internships and job placements. Around 90% of eligible students get placed annually. The average package ranges from ₹5 to ₹7 LPA, with the highest packages touching ₹15 LPA.
