Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS), Hisar, is a state university established by the Government of Haryana in 2010. Named after the great freedom fighter and social reformer Lala Lajpat Rai, the university aims to promote excellence in veterinary education, research, and extension services.

LUVAS was carved out of the College of Veterinary Sciences, Hisar – formerly a part of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. It now operates as an independent institution offering specialized training in animal health and production.

LUVAS Hisar Admission Process

Eligibility for UG Courses

  • B.V.Sc. & A.H. – Must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects, with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).

  • Admission is based on NEET-UG score, making it highly competitive.

Eligibility for B.Tech. Dairy Technology

  • 10+2 with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or PCB.

  • Admission through JEE Main / LUVAS entrance test (depending on notification).

PG & Ph.D. Programs

  • Based on performance in the ICAR (AIEEA-PG/Ph.D.) exam or university-level entrance tests.

LUVAS Hisar Fee Structure

LUVAS is a government university, so the fee is comparatively lower than private institutions.

  • B.V.Sc. & A.H. – 40,000–55,000 per year (approx.)

  • B.Tech. Dairy Technology – 45,000–60,000 per year (approx.)

  • M.V.Sc. & Ph.D. – Varies from 30,000–70,000 annually, depending on specialization.

This makes it an affordable option for students aspiring to enter veterinary and animal sciences.

LUVAS Hisar Cut Off

The cut off is the minimum score or rank you need to secure a seat. For LUVAS Hisar, the cut off depends on:

  • Difficulty level of the entrance exam

  • Number of applicants

  • Available seats (especially for BVSc & AH)

  • Reservation categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, Haryana quota, etc.)

For aspirants, even a difference of 5–10 marks can decide whether you get admission or not.

Types of LUVAS Cut Off

LUVAS declares multiple rounds of cut off lists during counselling. Broadly, it is divided into:

  1. General Category Cut Off – Higher due to open competition.

  2. Reserved Category Cut Off – Lower for SC/ST/OBC/EWS students as per rules.

  3. State Quota vs. All India Quota – Haryana students often have a slightly different cut off compared to candidates from outside the state.
