LIET was established in 2001 by the Marut Nandan Educational Society. It is affiliated with Bikaner Technical University (BTU) and approved by AICTE, Government of India.

LIET is situated on the Alwar-Tijara-Delhi highway, approximately 15 km from Alwar city and 120 km from IGI Airport, Delhi.

Admissions can be applied for online through the LIET website or offline by consulting the concerned department. For B.Tech, admissions are based on 10+2/JEE merit and decided by the centralized Admission Committee of the Government of Rajasthan and the institute. For M.Tech, admissions are based on B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc./M.C.A. percentage and decided by the CAM process of the centralized admission committee of BTU and the institute.

Yes, LIET offers scholarships based on Class 12 (PCM) performance: Above 90%: 100% tuition fee waiver ,81–90%: 75% waiver and 71–80%: 50% waiver.
