Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), established in 1986, was the visionary initiative of Padmashree Dr. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. As the first university in India exclusively dedicated to medical and health education, NTRUHS was founded through Act No. 6 of 1986, with its headquarters in Vijayawada.
The university focuses on providing quality education in Medical, Dental, Nursing, AYUSH, and Allied Health Sciences. It plays a significant role in advancing healthcare and medical education in Andhra Pradesh. The Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh currently serves as the Chancellor of NTRUHS.
