Purnea University

Purnea University, established on March 18, 2018, is a public state university located in Purnia, Bihar, India. Carved out of Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University, it serves the Purnea division, encompassing the districts of Purnea, Araria, Kishanganj, and Katihar . The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with a "B" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Academic Programs

Purnea University offers a diverse range of academic programs across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. Undergraduate courses include B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., BCA, BBA, B.Ed., and LLB. Campus and Facilities

Currently operating from the campus of Purnea College, the university is developing its own campus spanning approximately 37.24 acres. The upcoming campus will feature academic and administrative blocks, libraries, laboratories, hostels, sports and cultural facilities, healthcare center, and other essential amenities

Admissions

Admissions to undergraduate and vocational courses are based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. For postgraduate and doctoral programs, the university conducts its own entrance examinations
