Raj Rishi Bhartrihari Matsya University (RRBMU), formerly known as Matsya University, is a state university established in 2012 by the Government of Rajasthan. It is situated in Alwar, Rajasthan, and serves as the only university catering to the educational needs of the Alwar district.
Currently, RRBMU operates from a temporary campus located at the Girls Hostel Building of Babu Shobha Ram Government Arts College in Alwar. The permanent campus is under construction at Village Haldeena, Tehsil Malakhera.
Admissions are primarily merit-based. For PhD programs, candidates must clear the PhD Entrance Test (PET) followed by a personal interview.
RRBMU provides a well-equipped library, sports facilities, and organizes extracurricular activities like debates and cultural events to foster student development.
As the university operates from a temporary campus, hostel facilities are limited. Students often arrange private accommodations nearby.
