Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU), formerly known as Bhagalpur University, is a prominent public institution located in Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. Established on July 12, 1960, it was renamed in 1991 to honor Tilka Majhi, a tribal freedom fighter who led one of the earliest revolts against British colonial rule in India . The university spans a 264-acre urban campus and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
TMBU comprises six faculties: Science, Social Science, Humanities, Commerce, Management Studies, and Law . It offers a diverse range of programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral courses.
