Assam Don Bosco University

Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) is a private, non-profit, co-educational Catholic research university located in Guwahati, Assam. Founded on March 29, 2008, by the Salesians of Don Bosco, ADBU was formally established under the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007, and inaugurated on December 6, 2008. It is the first private state university in Assam and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with an 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Academic Programs

ADBU offers a comprehensive range of programs across various disciplines:​

• Undergraduate Programs: B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, and Electronics & Communication Engineering; BCA; BBA; B.Com; BA in Mass Communication, Psychology, and English; B.Ed; and more.​

• Postgraduate Programs: M.Tech in various specializations; MBA in Marketing, HRM, and Operations; MCA; MA in Psychological Counseling, Educational Leadership, and Child Rights & Development; MSW; and more.​

• Doctoral Programs: Ph.D. in disciplines such as Engineering, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Business Administration, Social Work, and more.​

• Online & Distance Education: Programs like BBA, BCA, MBA, and M.Sc. in Information Technology are offered through ADBU Global.

Campus and Infrastructure

ADBU operates across four campuses:

• Tapesia Campus (Main Campus): Spread over 300 acres in Tapesia Gardens, this campus houses the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences, Applied Sciences, and Life Sciences.​

• Azara Campus: Located near the airport, it hosts the School of Technology.​

• Kharguli Campus: Situated on Ramsai Hills along the Brahmaputra, it accommodates the School of Commerce and Management.​

• Kharghuli Campus: Dedicated to non-formal vocational courses.​

The university boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, libraries, sports complexes, hostels, and high-speed internet connectivity. ​

Research and Collaborations

ADBU emphasizes research and innovation, with faculty and students engaged in various research initiatives. The university has established partnerships with over 70 institutions globally, including the University of Chester (UK), Fu Jen Catholic University (Taiwan), and the University of Illinois Chicago (USA). ​

Placements and Scholarships

The university's dedicated placement cell facilitates internships, industrial visits, and campus recruitment drives. Top recruiters include TCS, Amazon, Infosys, Wipro, and Deloitte. In 2023, approximately 90% of eligible students were placed, with the highest salary package offered at ₹32 LPA and an average salary of ₹7.2 LPA.

ADBU offers various scholarships, including merit-based, need-based, sports, and disability scholarships, totaling up to ₹4 crore annually. ​
