Barbhag College, Nalbari

Established on August 11, 1994, Baihata Chariali B.Ed. College stands as the sole teacher education institution in the northeastern part of Kamrup district, Assam.

Affiliated with Gauhati University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) since 1997, the college has been instrumental in advancing teacher education in the region. Initially operating as an evening shift college, it moved to its permanent campus in 1996.

Situated in Agdala village at the heart of Baihata Chariali, a semi-township in Kamrup Rural district, the college is approximately 25 kilometers north of Guwahati, Assam's capital. The location is accessible via National Highway 31 and is 22 kilometers by railway from Guwahati. The nearest airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, located 38 kilometers away.

Academic Programs

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

• Duration: 2 years

• Annual Intake: 100 students

• Eligibility: Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

• Admission Process: Based on performance in the Common Entrance Test conducted by Gauhati University.

• Fees: Total of ₹1,35,000 (₹70,000 for the first year and ₹65,000 for the second year).

Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.)

• Duration: 2 years

• Annual Intake: 50 students

• Eligibility: Higher Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).

• Age Limit: 18 to 34 years (relaxation of 2 years for SC/ST candidates).

• Admission Process: Through the Pre-Entry Test (PET) conducted by SCERT, Assam.

• Fees: ₹68,000 for the entire course (₹17,000 per semester).
