Bongaigaon College

Established on July 8, 1964, Bongaigaon College is a prominent educational institution located in Bongaigaon, Assam. Initially offering Pre-university Arts classes under Gauhati University, the college has expanded its academic offerings over the years. It is affiliated with Gauhati University and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The college has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is currently preparing for its fourth cycle of accreditation.

In a significant development, the Government of Assam upgraded Bongaigaon College to the status of a full-fledged State University under the Assam Act No. LIV of 2023, marking a historic milestone for the institution.
