About Martin Luther Christian University

Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) was founded in July 2005 under Meghalaya’s Legislative Assembly Act and recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f), gaining autonomy to grant degrees under Section 22. Located in Shillong with satellite campuses at Jowai and Tura, MLCU is India’s first full‑fledged Christian university focusing on multidisciplinary studies beyond theology . It operates with a mission to foster sustainable development in Northeast India and adheres strongly to experiential, skill‑based learning .

Academics

MLCU offers a wide array of programmes—UG, PG, integrated five‑year degrees, diplomas, and certificate courses in management, sciences, allied health, psychology, environment, social work, and humanities . The curriculum includes at least 50 % experiential learning through internships, fieldwork, labs, and community outreach .
