Tezpur University

Tezpur University, established in 1994 through an Act of Parliament, is a Central University located in Napaam, approximately 15 km east of Tezpur in Assam, India. Spanning 262 acres, the campus is a blend of natural beauty and modern infrastructure, offering a conducive environment for learning and research.

Academic Structure

The university comprises four schools:

1. School of Sciences
   Departments include Chemical Sciences, Environmental Science, Mathematical Sciences, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, and Physics.

2. School of Humanities & Social Sciences
   Offers programs in Assamese, Cultural Studies, Education, English, Foreign Languages, Hindi, Law, Linguistics and Language Technology, Mass Communication and Journalism, Social Work, and Sociology.

3. School of Management Sciences
   Includes departments of Business Administration, Commerce, and the Centre for Disaster Management.

4. School of Engineering
   Covers disciplines such as Applied Sciences, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Design, Energy, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology, and Mechanical Engineering.

Additionally, the university hosts various special centres and cells focusing on areas like innovation, entrepreneurship, and research development.

Admissions

• Undergraduate Programs: Admission is based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).​

• B.Tech Programs: Admissions are through JEE Main scores.​

• Postgraduate and Ph.D. Programs: The Tezpur University Entrance Examination (TUEE) is conducted for these courses.

• Distance Learning: Offered through the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), catering to a wider audience.
