Sikkim Manipal University [SMU] was established in the year 1995 located in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. The university is the first Government-Private initiative. It is recognized by the UGC and is also approved by AICTE and the Government of India.

SMU is the first-ever Public-Private Partnership [PPP] in the country for higher Education and Health Care services. The University is recognized by the NAAC and Medical Council of India [MCI]. SMU offers quality education to students from North and North-Eastern parts of India.

Sikkim Manipal University Admissions

Sikkim Manipal University admission 2024 is open. Once the candidate fills out the application form and it is verified by the university, then the university uploads all the information on the official website. The list of eligible candidates has to attend the counseling process. Univerity 20% of the seats for each course are reserved for candidates selected by the Government of Sikkim to give benefits to local people.

Sikkim Manipal University Eligibility Criteria

Sikkim Manipal University has set eligibility criteria for each of the courses offered at the university. Below listed are a few eligibility criteria for the various courses 

B.Tech/BBA/BCA/B.Sc/BPT/B.Com/BA Eligibility Criteria:

• The student must have completed 10+2 with at least 45% aggregate with respected subjects from a recognized university.

M.Tech/M.Com/M.Sc/MPT/MCA/MBA Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidate should have done their graduation from an appropriate university or college with a minimum of 45% aggregate

MBBS Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates need to pass 10+2 or equivalent with 50%aggregate in physics, chemistry, and biology

Sikkim Manipal University provides scholarships to all eligible candidates in various fields and under different criteria. SMU scholarships are provided to need students also. Below listed are the categories of scholarships offered:

• 30% concession on Course fees for B Tech candidates having an average PCM of 90% and above
• 20% concession on Course fees for B Tech candidates having an average PCM between 85 - 90%
• 10% concession on Course fees for B Tech candidates having an average PCM between 80 - 85%
• 20% concession on Course fees for B Tech candidates of Nepal and Bhutan.
